About Aimee Mouw

Aimee Mouw Hello, and Welcome!!! I am an award winning Fine Artist who has an Art Studio called, Aimee Mouw Fine Art, located at: Las Tiendas de Amarillo Courtyard, 6666 W. Amarillo BLVD, Unit #7, Amarillo, TX, 79106. Previously, I had two art galleries and studios at the former art mall in Amarillo: Arts in the Sunset (The Galleries at Sunset Center) in Studios 106 & 100, and I was a member artist at the Panhandle Art Center Galleries in Amarillo for eight years. You may also have seen my artwork in Willies Bayou Grill, when it existed along I-40 in Amarillo. I was commissioned to custom paint the restaurant artwork and the signature painting, Midnight Snack, was featured on the menus. I have also been a member of the Amarillo Fine Arts Society, and competed in numerous local juried exhibitions.

I work in acrylic, watercolor, pastels, oil, mixed media, art photography, art journaling, bible journaling, drawing and beaded jewelry, and my inspiration comes from my Faith in God and the journey that life has taken me on across this great country. My artwork has been culturally influenced by the eight states that I have lived in ranging from the pristine forests and waters of The Great Lakes, to the East Coast, the Florida Panhandle, through the Midwest and the deep south to the deserts, mesas and arroyos of Arizona and New Mexico, and on to the Pacific Coast of Southern California. Currently, I have lived the last 11 years in the wild canyon lands of Amarillo, TX, which is a mixture of Western, Southern and Southwestern influences.

I started out back in 1992, with a B.A. in Graphic Design from Grace College in Winona Lake, IN, where I studied fine art, graphic design, photography and journalism. As the wife of a Marine Attack Helicopter Pilot, and test pilot for Bell Helicopter-Textron, and the mother of two nearly grown up boys, I have lived a life of adventure, self-discovery, and spiritual introspection that is reflected in much of my artwork.

Art has always been an integral part of my life. My interest in art began when I was very young while watching Bob Ross paint on PBS. Later, I went to art camp and took art classes in High School. I painted my first oil at age 17, and in college I was the recipient of an art merit scholarship and placed with several juried exhibit awards in both Painting and Photography. Currently, I work and sell my artwork originals in my studio and gallery at Las Tiendas de Amarillo. I also take painting commissions, and I make and sell handmade beaded jewelry and beaded horseshoe sun-catchers. Very soon, I plan to branch into offering art classes in my studio as well. Thank you for your interest in my artwork. I sincerely hope you will swing by my studio and gallery on your next trip though Amarillo, and join my Facebook and Instagram Community (I am under aimee mouw fine art). I appreciate your time and patronage! Blessings... Aimee L. Mouw
